Solar Screens
In 2005 two things happened at the same time. I wanted to add another quality product to JEDCO and somehow cut my home utility bills down. The answer to both needs was Solar Screens. So I began researching what the best product would be for both my customers as well as my own house (I wasnt going to offer a product I wouldn't use myself). The answer was Phifer Solar Screens.
Seven years and over a thousand screens later I am happy that I did. I drastically cut my electric bill and found a product to help my customers do the same.
Our screens use an all metal frame with mitered corners. Many manufatureres of Solar Screens use platic tabs and inserts to help cut cost and make the screen easier to make. But the plastic corners fade and crack in the sun and the inserts are flimsy and can break easily. That certainly did not go with my personal motto of "Excellence is the Only Standard". I felt that it isn't about how "easy" it would be but what is the best product for my customer. So, no plastic inserts, no plastic corners...all metal! If I am going to use the best Solar Screen Material then I want the best frame to hold it. Some manufactures also use a small 3/8" by 3/4" frame. I use a 5/16" by 1" frame or larger if needed.
Every customer I have talked to, after I installed their Solar Screens, were very happy to tell me about the money it has saved them during the sweltering Texas summer heat. Many of them had grids put in the front Solar Screens to match the existing window grids and add a beautiful touch to their house.

SunTex is a unique woven mesh that can block 80-90% of the sun’s hot rays before they enter your windows.
